We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Russell Mackey as the new Program Director/ Head Coach for our Girls Lacrosse Program at Indian Hill High School! Coach Mackey joins us with an impressive record of success, championship wins, and a wealth of experience nurturing young female athletes to reach their full potential.
A Legacy of Excellence
Coach Mackey brings over 20 years of coaching experience, having recently led Anderson University's NCAA DIII program to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship games in 2024 and 2025. Prior to that, he spent 14 years at Mount Notre Dame High School, guiding teams to eight Greater Girls Catholic League (GGCL) championships, multiple Elite 8 appearances, and a Final Four game in the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) tournament. His commitment to excellence has earned him numerous awards, including OHSAA Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award and multiple Coach of the Year honors.
A Proven Track Record of Player Development
Coach Mackey has successfully coached and mentored countless athletes who have gone on to play at the collegiate level, including several who became U.S. Lacrosse All Americans and All Academic honorees. His focus on athlete confidence, skill development, and team culture ensures that our players will thrive both on and off the field.
A Leader On and Off the Field
Beyond his coaching accolades, Coach Mackey has also contributed to the growth of lacrosse as a co-owner and founder of Cincy Lacrosse LLC., fostering a love of the game in the Cincinnati area. His leadership extends to the board of USA Lacrosse's Southern Ohio Chapter, where he currently serves as President.

Coach Mackey is known for creating positive, professional environments, championing family and athlete engagement, and building collaborative team cultures. His approach emphasizes strong communication, clear role definitions, and pushing athletes to reach their full potential.
Hall of Fame Recognition
In 2024, Coach Mackey was inducted into the Ohio Lacrosse Hall of Fame as a Contributor, recognizing his outstanding leadership and contributions to the sport.
