On Monday evening, August 24, Elizabeth Whaley was invited to participate in a high powered quad meet at Loveland High School. The meet featured several state medalists, and it was the first time Elizabeth has competed since the state indoor track & field championship on March 7, 2020. It was wonderful to be back competing, and the sound of the starting gun firing was emotional.    

Elizabeth went out hard running the first mile in 5:56. She settled into her pace as she was being challenged by a Sycamore runner. In true Elizabeth form, she held off the runner to cross the finish line in a time of 19:38 to finish 5th. Just an outstanding race, and an exceptional time to run on August 24. Congratulations Elizabeth!!! 

The 2020 Cross Country season has officially begun, and it is awesome!
